The Hokie Bird Learns with lynda, You Can Too

Virginia Tech students, faculty and staff now have access to the lynda.com video tutorial and training library for FREE.  The tutorials can be used as assignments for class, to improve individual technology skills, and to learn new skills.  The tutorials are all video based and you can watch individual sections or an entire course.

The video tutorials are available on mobile devices so you can learn anywhere, anytime, with any device that is connected to the Internet.  The app for iOS devices can be downloaded from the App Store.  For other mobile devices, users can access the tutorials on any browser at:  lynda.vt.edu and use their PID and password to login.

New trainings are added weekly.  Some highlights available now include:

  • Excel
  • iMovie
  • CAD
  • Business Skills
  • Photoshop
  • InDesign
  • Illustrator
  • Dreamweaver
  • Java
  • Photoshop

Evernote: Organizing your Online Materials

This technology is Evernote. This is a place to store your images, notes, webpages.  The great uses of these tools include research, dissertations, writing, term papers, and project organization.
