Stephanie Cooke is a Ph.D. student in Human Development at Virginia Tech. Her research focuses on social network support prior to and entering motherhood for Black queer mothers. Stephanie approaches research from a Black feminist lens and considers the intersections between identity in relational processes. Through her dissertation work, Stephanie is examining how transition to motherhood impacts Black queer mother’s social support. Additionally, Stephanie has her master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and currently holds a clinical associate license in N.C.
