I currently serve as the State Department Chair at the National Defense University, College of Information & Cyberspace. Prior to joining the NDU-CIO, I worked as the Director of IT Strategy, Architecture, Portfolio Management and ITFinancial Management with direct budgetary responsibility of approximately $720M and Department-wide performance oversight of a $1.5B global IT portfolio.
My public sector career includes serving as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the DHS Science & Technology Directorate, the R&D arm of the Homeland Security, as the Chief Enterprise Architect US Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis, and as the Chief eCommerce Strategist at the U.S. Export Import Bank.
My private sector experience includes corporate financial, government relations, and technology management in the aerospace and commercial electronics industry. I also worked as an international management consultant with USAID providing specialized international trade, development, and e-business services to government agencies and organizations throughout Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Latin American, and Africa.
