C.L. Bohannon

CL Bohannon photoC.L. Bohannon is a current third year PhD student in the Architecture Design Research Program in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies. C.L. holds a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He also holds a Masters in Landscape Architecture with an emphasis in community and urban design. In addition, C.L. also holds a Future Professoriate Graduate Certificate and is designated as a Citizen Engaged Scholar by the Graduate School at Virginia Tech. He is currently a graduate teaching assistant in the Landscape Architecture program, where he teaches a variety of courses including construction technology and design studios that focus on community and place. His current research focuses on engagement as pedagogy in design education through community based praxis. This work is conceptualized through interdisciplinary methodologies and practices that examine stories and the lived experienced through the archive. Before returning to work on his doctorate C.L. was a tenure track professor in the Landscape Architecture program in the School of Architecture at Florida A&M University. C.L. also has over 8 years of professional practice in landscape architecture with an extensive portfolio of work ranging from resort development to town planning throughout the southwestern United States and the Caribbean.
