Michelle Schroeder-Moreno

Michelle Schroeder-Moreno is currently an Associate Professor at North Carolina State University in the Department of Crop Science. She brings international experience in agroecology and sustainable farming to the Appalachian Foodshed Project. Michelle is wants to see more producers at the decision-making table to create tangible food system outputs in the region. She points out that there’s a lot of knowledge within the community and knows that we just need to listen. She says that patience pays off as you provide more leadership to others and develop their capacity to carry the work forward for themselves.
