As the original “life hackers” disabled people have a rich and complicated history and relationship with technology. In this course we will explore how disabled people use and are affected by technology every day. This includes not just things like wheelchairs and hearing aids, but also media, advertising, medication, infrastructure, buildings, bathrooms and more. Counts towards the Disability Studies minor and other STS minors as well.
