Research

My passion lies in qualitative research, with a heavy emphasis on narratives. From rhetorical criticism to case studies, I have a particular interest in the ways that stories interact with daily life. I am currently working on a group research project analyzing the differences in perceptions of narratives about individuals in news stories. Likewise, I am currently developing a paper on the public relations campaign by Aerie, focusing on body image and personal stories in digital media.

On March 28th, I will be presented a poster at the Virginia Tech Graduate Research Symposium. My project is a rhetorical criticism of the documentary Dear Zachary, and how narrative has the power to change laws internationally.

On April 6th-7th, I took part in theĀ VACAS conference at George Mason University, where I organized a panel of GTA’s from two universities to discuss the work-life balance of GTA’s in the communication field.

I am looking forward to continuing to share my research with others, and am always on the lookout for a new project!
