Professor Jacobson talked about a research she is processing on community design. Her research is a gather of community design, morphology and social science. She is trying to find out what extent the morphological characteristics could be manipulated to accommodate at the block scale to generate social interaction.
I found this research quite interesting since it makes a connection between the community morphological design with the social benefits. The invisible social interaction is easy to be ignored in the traditional community design. It will be very helpful if we have the data to guide our future community design.
