Making a Difference in the Urban Landscape
Position: Owner and Operator of Canopy, LLC, Washington, DC
Before Sarah graduated from Virginia Tech with her bachelor’s in Horticulture, she studied abroad in England at the University of Sheffield learning about urban ecology and greenroofs. Since her graduation in 2005, she has held a variety of positions in the greenroof industry ranging from research to design and installation. In 2007, she started her own company, Canopy, LLC in Washington, DC which is a company that blends architecture and landscape design concepts with a concern for the environment to create beautiful and functional vegetated rooftops and urban gardens.
