The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) is looking for candidates for the Health Assistant position this summer. We’re more books than bug bites and algebra than archery, but our students have the time of their lives in both engaging classes and exciting social activities. They come for the classwork, but fall in love with our beautiful college campus settings, our energetic staff, and their new best friends. Our staff retention rate is robust, and we provide competitive pay plus room and board. Working closely with the site nurse and site director, health assistants (HAs) participate in the day-to-day operation of the site health office, keep track of students’ medications and medical appointments, confer with parents, and act as a liaison with nearby medical professionals. Health Assistants must be at least 21 (for insurance purposes) and have a good driving record as they are required to drive site vehicles.
CTY’s remaining Health Assistant positions are at sites in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. The sites run for two sessions – the first includes a setup week and runs from June 16- July 13, while the second runs from July 13-August 4. Pay begins at $3200 for two sessions, and we provide room and board for Health Assistants. Two session staff members are preferred.
