Virginia Commonwealth School of Medicine is hosting the 2019 Virginia Global Surgery Symposium on March 2, 2019. They will have over 30 speakers from various specialties including OBGYN, anesthesia, pediatrics, neurosurgery, urology, pulmonary critical care and many more! The speakers are from many institutions including VCU, Harvard, Rutgers, Yale, Utah and others. They are also honored to have Dr. Walt Johnson, head of the surgical division of the World Health Organization, giving a brief remark at the symposium.
We would love for any Virginia Tech Pre-Medical students who have an interest in global health to join us! This is a great way for students to network from various physicians across many different specialties. It is also a great way to network about possible research projects or shadowing experiences.
