The Minority Association for Pre-Health Students (MAPS) is a pre-health initiative by the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) to educate and prepare undergrads for healthcare professions through cultural awareness and holistic pre-health education.
They have resume workshops in conjunction with HPA and volunteering network opportunities with organizations such as Lewis-Gale Hospital and Medi Home Hospice. At least once a semester, they are invited to attend a “mini-med school” hosted by Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) students, to grant a look into the curriculum of a medical school student. These are just a few of the opportunities available to MAPS members.
Their first club meeting of the semester is next Tuesday, September 11th at 6:30PM in Pamplin 1001. They look forward to seeing you there!
