VT Engage Recruiting New AmeriCorps Members

Do you enjoy community service, but want to do more? Want to get more engaged in your community? Join the VT Engage AmeriCorps Network!

We are hiring 21 part-time members to start this fall. Members will serve with the American Red Cross and Smart Beginnings New River Valley to build awareness and capacity in the areas of disaster preparedness and early childhood literacy. We place AmeriCorps members with these nonprofits to serve the New River Valley area for a national service term that can be completed over the course of the academic year or full year (September 2015-September 2016.)

AmeriCorps is a federal program with 75,000 members serving community organizations throughout the U.S. annually. Members receive a small living allowance, and are eligible for an educational award upon completion of their service. Check out position info below.

AmeriCorp

American Red Cross
(2) 675 hour positions (not available to undergrad students)

(5) 300 hour positions

Members will implement volunteer recruitment strategies and facilitate disaster preparedness outreach programs.

Smart Beginnings New River Valley
(2) 675 hour positions (not available to undergrad students)

(10) 300 hour positions

Members will oversee literacy services at one or more childcare centers, including the oversight and coordination of the Reading Hour volunteer mentoring program.

VT Engage office 
(2) 300 hour positions available

Members will develop and implement programs for national and international days of service, and assist members serving at either the Red Cross or Smart Beginnings.
