To whom it may concern:
This is an excellent experience for anyone interested in gaining clinical experience for medical or physician assistant schools. Located in Fairfax and Warrenton, Virginia Emergency Medical Associates Scribe Program has a desire to educate future physicians through one on one mentoring with an emergency department physician. Throughout shifts in the emergency department scribes have access to patient records, have patient contact, learn to compose patient histories of present illness, become familiar with medical terms and clinical correlation, dictate physical exams, are present during major and minor procedures in the emergency department and much more. The program’s desire is for their scribes to get into medical school. Physicians partnered with the program are willing to write letters of recommendation and help scribe think like a physician. Plus scheduling is more flexible throughout the medical school interview process.
