About francesdavis

I am a PhD candidate in Engineering Mechanics at Virginia Tech. I received a BS in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Virginia Tech in 2006. After completing my bachelor's degree, I worked at Luna Innovations on the development of multi-functional composites. In 2008, I returned to graduate school. I am presently the recipient of both the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and the Ford Foundation Pre-Doctoral Fellowship. My research focuses on the development of constitutive models to describe the non-linear viscoelastic behavior of soft tissues such as ligament and tendon. I anticipate completing my PhD in the Spring of 2013.
