Alpha Zeta Honor Society

The Virginia Chapter of Alpha Zeta is a professional, service, and honorary fraternity for men and women in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Natural Resources at Virginia Tech. It is composed of student, alumni, associate, and honorary members who have been initiated by chartered chapters or alumni associations of the Fraternity.

American Fisheries Society

Promotes the educational, scientific, and technological development and advancement of all branches of fisheries science and practice, including aquatic biology, engineering, economics, fish culture, limnology, oceanography, and technology.

American Water Resources Association

Support our local, regional, and national water resources through water education, service, management, and research

CNRE Ambassadors

CNRE Ambassadors work closely with the Academic Programs Office to serve as guides and recruiters for prospective students and their parents, represent the College at university-sponsored events such as Open Houses, act as hosts at alumni receptions and events, and help teach several Natural Resources First Year Experience labs.

Forest Products Club

The Virginia Tech Forest Products Club is a student chapter of the Forest Products Society. The club is for students interested in wood science and forest products. It is open to any undergraduate or graduate students attending Virginia Tech.

 

Forestry Club

The Virginia Tech Forestry Club promotes a spirit of fellowship among students within the College of Natural Resources and Environment. The club encourages members of the other fields in the activities of the club, and engage in activities furthering the education and enjoyment of its members in the field of renewable natural resources.

Geographic Society

Working to promote geographic awareness throughout Virginia Tech and the Blacksburg community. Our goal is to serve the Virginia Tech and the surrounding communities. Our service includes outreach educational activities and protecting and restoring the environment to achieve sustainability and conservation for the future.

Meteorology

To promote interest in atmosphere science and meteorology through social and educational events.

Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences

Promote careers in agriculture, natural resources, and other related sciences by providing a network of support for minority students

Natural Resources Recreation Society

A student organization devoted to enhancing educational opportunities within natural resources recreation and related fields.

Pre-Vet Club

To discuss veterinary medicine and post bacchalaureate education for the furthing of the field.

Society of American Foresters Student Chapter

Advances the science, education, technology, and practice of forestry; to enhance the competency of its members; to establish professional excellence; and, to use the knowledge, skills, and conservation ethic of the profession to ensure the continued health and use of forest ecosystems and the present and future availability of forest resources to benefit society.

The Wildlife Society – Virginia Tech Student Chapter

Integrates the experience, knowledge, and participation of undergraduates, graduates, faculty, and wildlife professionals to provide learning opportunities and experiences for those with an appreciation and interest in wildlife.

Urban Forestry & Arboriculture Student Society at Virginia Tech

The Society aims to provide opportunities for students to broaden their academic experience through invited speakers, competing in national urban forestry and arboriculture competitions, interaction with practicing professionals, and other field trips and events.

Wildland Fire Crew

A student organization whose members have completed training and certification to fight wildfires. We go on calls with the Virginia Department of Forestry and the U.S. Forest Service within Virginia and beyond.

Wood Enterprise Institute (WEI)

The Wood Enterprise Institute (WEI) at Virginia Tech is a student-run entrepreneurial venture managed by student teams. The WEI strives to be recognized and respected as a leading student-learning environment for creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
