“It’s hard work but we’re good at it.”

Magic in  the mountains is what my friend Jim Flowers used to call this.

I continue to to be impressed by the growth of the technology community in Roanoke-Blacksburg just in the ten years I’ve been here. All the first-timer visitors I bring from out of town come away shaking their heads about what they’ve been missing.

Surprising yes, but magic?  Its all about people and making connections. As President Sands observed at last night’s RBTC dinner it’s hard work, but we’re good at it. Maybe the magic its in making it look easy and confounding the expectations of the rest of Virginia.
