- 1965-1968: Alan Jabbour records old time fiddler Henry Reed in his home at Glen Lyn, VA
- 1967 and 1969: Alan Jabbour gives the recordings to the Library of Congress
- 1973: the first and last Blacksburg Bluegrass and Old Time Fiddlers Convention in Ellet Valley
- Mid-1970s: Start of the Hoorah Cloggers, an old time music dance group centered in Blacksburg
- 1980: Start of the Blacksburg Square Dance, which is an ongoing tradition
- 1992-1993: Bill Richardson gets the public old time jam going in Blacksburg
- 2002: First Henry Reed Memorial Fiddlers Convention in Glen Lyn (now in Newport)
- 2007: WNRV AM 990 starts to only play bluegrass and old time music
- 2013: Interviews by Dr. Puckett’s class conducted for TCR affiliation project
- Sept. 25, 2013: Blacksburg Farmers Market Jam officially recognized as TCR affiliate
- March 2014: The Crooked Road Festival at the Moss Arts Center
- June 12-20 2015: Mountains of Music Homecoming–concerts and related events throughout TCR affiliated locations
