There are new faces working on projects at the Digital Library and Archives department.
Kiran Chitturi is a graduate assistant working to replace the current DLA web search tools – UltraSeek and the discontinued Google Mini – with an open source solution based on Apache Nutch and Apache Solr.
Sunshin Lee is a graduate assistant, and will work on a fish database project that Zhiwu has arranged with Virginia Tech researchers.
The talented Collin Brittle, who previously worked with DLA as a student assistant, has been hired as a software engineer. He is currently working primarily on projects related to Electronic Theses and Dissertations, and with the MetaArchive cooperative for geographically dispersed duplication and preservation of digital items.
