I am happy to say that my paper is almost done! I feel confident about the assessment I have made and the evidence I have to back it up.  After doing some final edits and revisions on my paper and cleaning up my citations, the last thing I would like to do on my paper is to tie everything together into my own flow diagram of reinforcing feedback loops. I wanted to incorporate some of what we have learned during class these past two semesters into my research and John Richardson’s flow diagram in Paradise Poisoned really seemed to apply to my research.  I want to create my own diagram as a way to visualize everything that I have learned about what is going on in Turkey and all of the different factors that play into each other. Adding this diagram into my paper is the last step I need to complete my research!

For my task 6 blog post on my progress, I have attached my long-awaited android application draft. I finally was able to finish the first draft at Innovation Space today and the next step for me is to embed the images into my paper to properly explain each interface of the application. I still have to tweak a few of the text boxes, and possibly change a few colors but this is mostly finished to give you the big picture. After I have put it in my paper, and finalized my application, I will have completed my C21s year long research paper!! WAHOO!!

My draft is going well so far. I have completed a start to finish version of a draft and am still working on fine tuning it. Katie was my peer review partner and she was very helpful in giving me both positive feedback and constructive criticism. I would still like to add more detail about where Push stands right now with the public park plans and would like to reference the official document that they emailed me somewhere in the paper. I realize that I do not use an extensive amount of sources in my paper but that is because I can write much of this without. I feel like I have used appropriate case examples and have given well-rounded accounts of skateboarders. I could maybe add in some words by a government official in either support of building a skate park or in denial, or both, to give a more well-rounded argument here.

Due to that fact that we had 4 people in our group, it was hard to set up a time so we could all meet. We ended up just having a conversation over Facebook message. Kelly and I had an exchange that I though was particularly helpful for both of us. She is currently doing a project on happiness and contentedness in the workplace and how that could lead to higher productivity and how workplaces may achieve this. I follow Arianna Huffington on twitter and I remembered she had recently come out with a book called Thrive, which examines the benefits of taking time to unwind and de-stress and how that leads to a better and healthier working life. I suggested Kelly look into her and her book. I also suggested looking into google and yahoo and their policies in employee well being as well as comparing US work habits to those in foreign countries and seeing the differences in styles and employee well-being. I sent Kelly my introductory paragraph and she had several helpful comments on making my introduction more specific so I could “hook” an audience more effectively. She also wanted more specific examples of my argument so it could be seen in a clear simple way.
