Going home for the holidays can be hard for college students. Family dynamics can be complex. Acknowledge them and accept that you can only control your role. If you need to, find ways to limit your exposure.
Accept Your Needs
Do you know your triggers? Do you know your needs?
Put your mental and physical well-being first. Recognize what your triggers are to help you prepare for stressful situations.
Finals Mental Health Tip
- Create a study schedule to avoid cramming
- Change up what you are studying/ rotate through classes
- Get a good night’s sleep
- Take breaks to improve your performance.
- Put finals in perspective! Remember that you’ll go through multiple finals weeks in your college life. Instead of pressuring yourself to perform well, keep things in perspective. Finals week can seem all-consuming, but remember that you’re a whole person with needs outside of a single week during the semester.
- Being kind to yourself can help you both academically and from a mental health perspective.
