About Me

My name is Ben Grove and I am a part time doctoral student in Planning, Governance, and Globalization in the School of Public and International Affairs. I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2001 with a B.S. in Animal and Poultry Sciences and worked for Tyson Foods for five years in quality assurance and sales positions. I returned to Blacksburg in January 2007 as a major gift officer for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Ten years and an MBA later, I made a career change and am now associate director for global programs for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Virginia Cooperative Extension. In this capacity, I work to create opportunities for faculty and student mobility, as well as meaningful collaborations between Virginia Tech and partners around the globe. Following completion of my PhD, my goal is to continue in higher education, in roles allowing me to utilize my diverse professional and educational background.
