Now through Friday, tell us! If you could pitch one awesome story idea to Ira Glass, what would it be? Use #PitchIra and Tweet us @ArtsCenteratVT to be eligible for a pair of tickets to see Ira Glass, host of NPR‘s This American Life here at the Moss Arts Center on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013. We’ll randomly select one winner on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013.
We’ve gotten some exciting pitches already! For instance, Katherine Hickey (@kathhickey) says Ira should cover stories about “single dads, space exploration, foodies, [and] digital libraries.”

Digging into the inaugural season
By now you’ve probably seen the lineup. You’ve likely narrowed it down to your top, say, 10 choices. Or better yet, your top 21 (that would be all of them).
We’ve already heard from some of you that you can’t possibly narrow it down, so you’ll just come to as many as you can. To which we say, “Yes, please! Come on in!”
But for those of you who are still looking things over, allow us to help guide the way a bit.
(Speaking of “guide,” have you seen our Inaugural Season Guide yet? When the hard copies were delivered to our office, we may or may not have spent some time gazing longingly at them, petting the different pages with different textures, and–in one instance–smelling the brand new ink smell. I think we’re in love! Kudos to our Creative Services Manager Brian Yohn for all his hard work.)
Anyway, back to the season. Let’s jump right on in, shall we?

Local media members mingle with Ira Glass
Shortly before the performance by Ira Glass, Reinventing Radio, on Saturday, Nov. 23, local members of the media had an opportunity to mingle with the man of the hour during a private reception, held in the Miles C. Horton Jr. Gallery at the Moss Arts Center.
Media members enjoyed snacks and beverages, provided by Personal Touch Catering, and the stunning exhibition by artist Leo Villareal, Digital Sublime, as well as some quality time with Ira Glass himself. Glass took time out to chat with all sorts of media representatives, including reporters, photographers, and staff at our local NPR affiliate, WVTF.
Here are some photos from the reception.
