Creating space was an abstract yet interesting topic to delve into, as I tried to define what space really meant. Space is a contiguous area that is free or unoccupied. A 2-dimensional composition was created before making the 3-dimensional form of it.

2-Dimensional Composition

To emphasize the idea of space, i expanded the hexagons as if it’s continuing off the page of the 15″x15″ Bristol paper.

Process

Similar to my execution in the depth assignment, I created each hexagons out of one, cut Bristol paper. After creating each hexagon, the real challenge was either to leave them separated or connect them together. I found that giving the hexagons a tangible connection made it seem to have more movement than just keeping them separate.
