Global Issues for a Global World

So we had our first meeting last month and the one thing that everyone was abuzz about was the possibility of travel before or after the program. So naturally, I spoke with my better half who had lived for some time in France, we had both seen much of Europe, and we decided that it would be a nice way for us to see some parts together for the first time.

Then the travel ban came out. My wife is on a temporary green card, having come here from Algeria on a fiancee visa. Now Algeria isn’t on the primary list of “Terrorism” countries, but it had a lengthy civil war well into the 2000’s, has had terrorist actions happen in recent years, and is a Muslim-majority country.

My wife’s green card expires and needs to be renewed pretty soon. This complicates things greatly.  More likely than not, she will not be joining me.
