Bio:
I was born and brought up in the capital city of India, New Delhi. I started off with my schooling at Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan followed by college education at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. I pursued Bachelors of Technology in Electronics and Communication and I was intrigued by robotics and electrical systems. I took part in many national level robotics competitions and won a few as well, followed by quality internships at Greenstar Research and Development and Centre for Development of Telematics.
While I graduated from college, I had a few job offers but I decided to join the masters program at the ECE Department at Virginia Tech, starting a new journey in a different country altogether. My first semester was a bit rough, since the education system was very different from the one back home but I followed through. I completed my Masters degree in 2018 following which I explored different PhD programs at Virginia Tech, that led me to the IT Security Lab at Virginia Tech. Working there, I realized my passion for Mobile Device Forensics and Application Security, because of which I entered the PhD program and have been very happy since. As part of my research I also collaborate with Cellebrite Digital Intelligence, pioneers in Digital Forensics Tools.
I love being outdoors for a hike or at the lake and enjoy driving a lot. In my free time I juggle between Tennis, Table Tennis and Racquetball besides being a fan of Mountain Biking. I am a big time car enthusiast, always out their testing new vehicles, driving through the scenic routes in and around New River Valley.
