GPSF FAQs

Q: How — and when — do I pay?

A: Programs will receive payment confirmations and invoices from the GPSF email account within 24 hours after payment is received. Please do not submit your payment until you’ve received this confirmation in your inbox. Payment options include 1) credit card via the Graduate Student Assembly Paypal account or 2) check. You will receive further instructions on your method of payment in your invoice. For any immediate or specific questions, please direct all inquiry to Joshua Slaughenhoupt at GPSFVirginiaTech@gmail.com.

Q: What is included in my registration?

A: Registration payments ($300 general, $200 for Virginia Tech departments and affiliates) includes a table with two chairs, lunch for two recruiters (served from 11:00am-1:00pm), and shuttle service between the parking lot and Squires Student Center.

Q: So, this is a fundraiser, right? Where do the funds go?

A: This event is the primary annual fundraising event for the Virginia Tech Graduate Student Assembly. Funds raised through this event will be used to support graduate student activities throughout the year. Virginia Tech does not profit from fees collected through this event.

Q: I’m excited for GPSF, but not very familiar with Virginia Tech’s campus. How do I get around? Where do I park? And to what office to I mail my recruitment materials?

A: We’ve got you covered. Information on getting to campus, parking and shuttle services, shipping your recruitment materials in advance, special hotel rates, and much more will be provided to registered recruiters by email beginning August 14. For now, we can tell you that parking and shuttle service will begin at 10:00am on September 25th, the day of the event, and check-in will begin at 10:30am.

Q: What’s your cancellation policy for recruiters?

A: Registrations can be cancelled for a full refund (minus any credit card processing fees — unfortunately, we are unable to refund those) on or before September 1, 2017. Cancellations after this date will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Day-of-event cancellations and no-shows cannot be refunded under most circumstances. Refunds will typically be issued by check regardless of method of original payment.

Q: What if I have a question that’s not answered on this page?

A: Email Joshua Slaughenhoupt at GPSFVirginiaTech@gmail.com with additional and unanswered questions.
