The Graduate Student Assembly would like to welcome all students at Virginia Tech to our annual Graduate and Professional School Fair (Monday, September 24th, 2018, 5:00pm-8:00pm). This event is free and open to all, regardless of your major, academic year, or current plans for the future. This is an opportunity for you to meet and connect with recruiters from different schools and programs – we even have a list of all registered organizations from around the country. Learn about your options for graduate and professional schools, as well as what the application process involves.
Why should I attend?
If you are still unsure about what your plans are after finishing your Virginia Tech degree, it never hurts to explore your options. This free event attracts representatives from over 100 graduate and professional schools every fall, so if you are still in your first few years, you can attend multiple times to help set yourself up for success in the application process. At the 2018 Graduate and Professional School Fair (GPSF), you will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with recruiters and:
- Learn details related to their schools and programs;
- Explore admissions requirements and funding opportunities;
- Collect materials and information that you can review later; and
- Network with people who know the ins and outs of their application process.
How can I prepare?
Great question – it’s exciting to start thinking ahead and planning on how to present yourself to recruiters. The Graduate Student Assembly is working with the Career and Professional Development office to host a prep session on what to expect from GPSF (as opposed to a Career Fair) that will end with a graduate students panel, with representatives from different parts of campus. This prep session will only be offered to those who RSVP via GobblerConnect.
